Photo Assignment 1: (50 points) Capturing an Event in Pictures
Take your camera to a newsworthy event and document it. Turn in only three photos in a blog post, demonstrating shot variety. (Turn in one overall shot, one medium shot, and one close-up or high/low angle shot.)
In composing your shots, follow the "Rule of Thirds" that we covered in class.
IMPORTANT: All photos must follow AP Caption style:
1. First sentence describes what the photo shows, in the present
tense, and states where and when the photo was made. At least one of the captions must contain the full date of the event.
2. The second sentence gives background on the news event or describes
why the photo is significant.
3. Stick to two sentences if at all possible, while including relevant
information. Try to anticipate what a newspaper editor or reader will
need.
AND: All photos must also include a credit: (Inside the Shell/Your Name)
Photos must be all in one blog post, and the title field must contain a headline for your photo story.
Must be posted to the blog by midnight Thursday.
