Erin Durkin's Project Proposal
Thrive DC is a rather large soup kitchen in Columbia Heights where people go there for food, art classes, and to receive hygienic supplies. Tucked away in the kitchen is Terrence Brown, the chef who prepares the menus and all of the meals. I would like to do an audio slide show on this man because he was considered one of the top chefs in Washington, D.C. He has cooked for politicians and has won cooking contests. Every year, he still cooks at the Blue Jeans Ball held at the Marriott. I want to photograph him at his work in the shelter and also where he used to work. With the audio, I wanted to get his story and why he made the switch. I feel this would probably be around a three to four minute piece.
