Jim Bach Final Project Proposal

In a city council meeting on Oct. 11, the College Park council voted overwhelmingly against supporting a development project that would create student housing at the site of a bookstore on Baltimore Avenue. The meeting drew a large crowd of disgruntled residents, highlighting a rift between development projects in the interests of the nearby university and residents of the city. I plan to look at both sides of this issue and understand the general argument. The rift here is worth looking into, to understand what has always been an inherent dispute between the university's interests, and the residents of College Park's interests. I will talk to residents, students, city councilmembers, and the developer, to get the best sound bytes, and will most likely set it to an audio presentation.
